Many B2B companies fail to gain value from Innovation Centers and Corporate Innovation Initiatives. Innovation Centers often struggle to gain buy-in from business stakeholders, fail to produce business outcomes, and often become stale and outdated.
A Fortune 200 Specialty Products B2B Company with a large global footprint and key target markets across multiple industries had the unique opportunity to develop a new Innovation Center for collaboration and co-innovation with customers and partners.
Utilizing interactive Design-Thinking led processes, we engaged subject matter experts to gain buy-in to a sustainable Vision and Strategy of the new Innovation Center and bring business units together. Through the creation of immersive Innovation Experiences, the Center was able to reflect cross-business and customer-focused views, paving the way for the company to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities. Having a clear process for continuous improvement, as well as trained company personnel for successful operations, has positioned the Center to continuously push the status-quo and position itself as a leader in Innovation.
For a digital transformation to be successful, employees must feel supported in achieving their work objectives. Designing an experience that elicits this support makes employees more likely to adopt the new tools and processes that are being implemented.
A quickly maturing Computer Games company was launching a new Purchasing Process that would have employees working directly in the re-implementation of an end-to-end procurement tool. This change required enterprise-level transformation initiatives and change management strategies that included significant changes to ways of working for employees.
We worked alongside this company to align leaders on a clear vision and purpose for the change, communicating the “Why” behind it in a compelling way. We mobilized Change Champions to implement good change management practices, increasing the overall change-readiness of the organization. This engagement successfully generated new ways of working for employees when purchasing goods and services, while establishing a clear process for new systems that helped mitigate risk of late payment issues and ensured proper compliance of company operations.
The seamless integration of an acquired asset requires end-to-end coordination between those making changes and those maintaining the core business capabilities. Acquisitions trigger a period of disruption, forcing people to alter their roles and practices to create a landscape suitable for change. By instituting the proper governance and tools necessary for sustaining organizational alignment and promoting best practices, the potential of a deal can be realized.
A prominent biopharmaceutical company, in an effort to diversify, had acquired a specialized drug to complement its existing portfolio. With the potential to accelerate revenue growth and meet growing customer demand, the integration required a scrupulous approach.
On the Integration Management Team, we coordinated our efforts to maintain high levels of engagement across stakeholder groups to ensure the key milestones driving progress could be routinely met. The deliverables of these groups served as building blocks for the success of the integration management plan as a whole, thereby heightening the criticality of communicating expectations and mitigating risks. Through continuous alignment and unwavering cross-functional engagement, the Integration Team was able to execute in lockstep and actualize the benefits the company long anticipated.
