International Retail Group Case Study

Developed and implemented Enterprise Change Management Strategy

An international Retail group with a workforce of 30,000+ associates faced an unprecedented amount of change following several acquisitions, changing customer demands, and opportunities to capitalize on digital transformation initiatives.

Our team was engaged by the company’s leadership to develop and implement an enterprise change management strategy and plan, build change management capability within the organization, and support the delivery of its most complex strategic initiatives.

We started by assessing the change impacts, risks and change maturity across the organization and presented the findings with the proposed Enterprise Change Management Strategy to the company’s leadership team.

Having secured buy-in from leadership, we developed an actionable plan to implement the strategy in phases across the organization, in collaboration with existing client teams. We also developed a Change Management Playbook, with fit-for-purpose tools and templates that enabled consistent change management execution across initiatives. To support its adoption, we ran capability development sessions for different audiences, including change management practitioners, project leaders as well as custom training on sponsoring and leading change for the top 200 leaders in the organization.

This foundation of change management has improved the company’s change readiness and enabled the successful delivery of important programs and initiatives. Our team continues to support the client with the delivery of the most complex transformation initiatives in progress.

Fortune 200 Biopharmaceutical Company Case Study

Integration planning and post-merger integration of $4B acquisition

The announcement of a $4B planned acquisition required the mobilization of a cross-functional team and plan that would allow meeting an aggressive closing period.

Our team put in place and managed a cross-functional planning process with 16 functional teams to establish a cross-functional plan within 10 days of the announcement of the deal. We gained buy-in for and implemented effective processes to increase the effectiveness of integration efforts and reduce risk.

We collaborated with the relevant functions to develop and implement effective change management and communications that led to a successful deal close and post-merger integration on time and without major risks.

To support our client in sustaining this capability, we developed an integration playbook and methodology for use in future integrations.

International Services Company Case Study

Enabling field force effectiveness with digital transformation

A leading services company with a large field force was looking to increase efficiency in their work processes by implementing new digital systems and ways of working. This change required their field force to move from paper-based working to using a mobile app, and their office-based staff to utilize standardized digital cloud-based tools and reporting.

Our team completed a change impact and risk assessment, devised a change management strategy and customized plan, and worked closely with the client to drive the execution of the change management plan. Addressing the key risks identified, we helped gain leadership alignment, implemented an updated governance structure to better enable decision-making, set up effective change management networks, developed compelling messaging and visioning, worked with the client’s training team to enable effective enablement, and stepped in to provide program and project management support to help ensure a seamless delivery.

This led to the successful adoption of the new digital technology and ways of working, enabled productivity gains, increased customer satisfaction, better reporting, and helped set our client up to adopt future changes as needed.

Fast-Growing Tech Company Case Study

Change management to drive adoption of new purchasing systems and processes

After rapid growth, a Computer Games company needed to mature as an organization - particularly in its operations and organizational structure. This required enterprise-level transformation initiatives that include significant changes to ways of working for employees.

One such change was a new purchasing process that would require employees to work directly in an end-to-end procurement tool. This change required enterprise-level transformation initiatives and change management strategies that included significant changes to ways of working for employees.

We worked alongside this company to align leaders on a clear vision and purpose for the change, communicating the “Why” behind it in a compelling way.  We mobilized Change Champions to implement good change management practices, increasing the overall change readiness of the organization. This engagement successfully generated new ways of working for employees when purchasing goods and services, while establishing a clear process for new systems that helped mitigate the risk of late payment issues and ensured proper compliance of company operations.

We also implemented good practices for change management to increase the overall change-readiness of the organization, facilitating the ease and readiness for future change needs on both individual and organizational levels.
